best PGN viewer? Hi

Can anyone tell me what they reckon is the best PGN viewer program?

There are a lot out there The one I use most is ChessPad ( ), which (while not the shiniest program out there) has a lot of features for its size. If I'm annotating my own games, I often use a different program called ChessCat ( ), which is a little more intuitive for that purpose. But there are literally dozens of PGN readers out there, so don't hesitate to download a bunch and see for yourself which one you like.

Nice one - I tried chesspad before - and don't really get on with the interface. I'll give chesscat a try. Thanks loads.

ChessCat? It gets me some Plasma Pong program. No ChessCat ...
ChessPad is the best, by the way. Never encountered a better chess program

heinzkat, bucklehead provided a working link to their website.

What about chessbase?

doctor_knight Yes, the website works, the link to the download works, but... the downloaded program doesn't install ChessCat on your computer, it installs Plasma Pong. :-)

Apologies... ...if the ChessCat download is not as advertised. The thing's been on my computer for years, so I obviously haven't tried to download it for a while.

There is a free ChessBase "Light" version that I tried a while back, but it seemed to be a weird balance of too many less useful features vs. too many restricted, more useful features. You might want to give it a twirl.

I don't know if this is the best one, but it's certainly a very nice one:
