16 ( +1 | -1 ) I've played a game when all we had was a chess board and no pieces. All we could do was fake to move the pieces. We had to quit after about 30 moves, so sad I was winning by a rook.
46 ( +1 | -1 ) Back in the Day . . .. . . when IM Leonid Bass and I were college teammates, we used to play 4-board double blindfold simuls against each other to pass the time traveling to tournaments <grin>. I think most players can learn to play a game blindfold; all it takes is a little practice. After all, playing "blindfold" is what you do every time you calculate a variation, eh? BTW, using a board as a "visual" helps when first starting out, IMHO
